nanoe X — Panasonic’s Own Air Purification Technology

How Panasonic’s nanoe X deactivates bacteria, viruses and allergens indoors — and why it works better than a plain filter in the Malaysian climate.

nanoe X — Panasonic’s Own Air Purification Technology

What Is nanoe X?

nanoe X is Panasonic’s own air purification technology. It generates hydroxyl radicals — the same molecules that form naturally in outdoor air after rain — by applying an electrical discharge to moisture inside the unit.

Here is the important difference: an ordinary filter only catches dust that passes through it. nanoe X disperses through the room, so it also acts on sofa fabric, curtains and mattresses that the filter’s airflow never reaches.

What nanoe X Does to Indoor Air

  • Bacteria and viruses — deactivated by up to 99.9% in enclosed laboratory tests
  • Allergens — dust mite debris, pollen and pet dander weakened so they trigger fewer reactions
  • Odours — cigarette smoke, cooking smells and pet odour reduced
  • Mould — growth on walls and ceilings slowed

Laboratory figures are always measured in a sealed test chamber, so real-world results depend on room size and ventilation. What stays consistent is the direction of the effect — cleaner air and lighter odours.

Why nanoe X Matters in the Malaysian Climate

Average humidity in Malaysia sits between 70% and 90% year round. Those conditions favour mould, dust mites and bacteria — the three things that most often trigger asthma and allergies indoors.

Then there is the haze season, which returns most years. During it families keep every window shut, and indoor air quality comes to depend entirely on what is already inside the house. An air conditioner with nanoe X adds a layer of protection that works whenever the unit is running.

Panasonic Models That Carry nanoe X

Seriesnanoe XHP Range
X-Premium XUYes — Mark 31.0 – 2.0HP
X-Deluxe XPUYes1.0 – 3.0HP
Standard Inverter PUNo1.0 – 2.5HP
Non-Inverter PNNo1.0 – 3.0HP

If air quality is your main reason to upgrade, start at the XPU series. The XU series carries the Mark 3 generator, the highest radical concentration in the Panasonic line-up.

Maintaining a nanoe X Unit

The nanoe X generator is built into the unit and never needs replacing like a HEPA cartridge. The ordinary dust filter behind the panel, however, still needs cleaning every two to four weeks, and a chemical wash is still advisable every three to four months.

A dust-clogged unit moves less air, and weak airflow means the nanoe X radicals never reach the far side of the room. Routine maintenance is what keeps the technology doing its job.
